2025 NORDIC DARTS MASTERS PREVIEW

What, When and Where is the Nordic Darts Masters?

The 2025 Nordic Darts Masters is set to take place on the 6th and 7th of June 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark. It takes place at the Forum Copenhagen, a large arena in the Frederiksberg area of the city, and has been held there since the first edition in 2021.

It will be the third of this year’s seven World Series events, and the first since January’s double-header in Bahrain and the Netherlands. The event has had four different winners in its four editions.

What is the Format and Session Plan?

World Series events take place over just two days with evening sessions and feature 16 players: eight PDC representatives and eight regional representatives.

  • Round one features eight games, with PDC representatives facing regional representatives, and takes place on the first day.

  • Day two then sees a single session with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

  • The sessions both get underway at 19:00 local time and are both fully sold out.

Who Qualifies for the Nordic Masters?

The PDC representatives are hand-picked, whereas there are qualifying rules for the regional representatives for this event, who all come from the Nordic & Baltic region

To get the eight regional representatives:

  • Any player from that region with an active PDC tour card gets a spot

  • Any remaining spots go to the top players from the PDC Nordic & Baltic tour

Who are the PDC Representatives?

The eight seeded players are big stars selected by the PDC. This includes seven of the eight players from the recently concluded Premier League:

  • Luke Humphries

  • Luke Littler

  • Michael van Gerwen

  • Stephen Bunting

  • Rob Cross

  • Gerwyn Price

  • Nathan Aspinall

The one exception is the selection of Jonny Clayton over Chris Dobey, which was confirmed before Clayton’s recent win at the Dutch Darts Championship.

Betting Tips for the Nordic Darts Masters

Bunting to return to form?

Stephen Bunting has produced his best results of the year on the World Series, and after a poor Premier League campaign could offer some value in the outright market.

Labanauskas to get a win for the qualifiers?

Despite not having had a tour card for the past few years, Darius Labanauskas seems to be in better form than nearly all of the other regional representatives, and could be their best hope at getting a win over a PDC star.

SF1 winner the way to go?

In all events with action-packed final sessions, it is often beneficial to back the finalist whose semi-final win came earlier in the night, as they have more of a break before the decisive showdown.

Who Have the Past Finalists Been?

The first edition in 2021 saw history made, with Fallon Sherrock becoming the first woman to reach a televised PDC final in a mixed event, but she was beaten 11-7 by Michael van Gerwen, who picked up his 16th World Series title.

In 2022, we saw Dimitri van den Bergh win his first World Series title, beating Gary Anderson 11-5 in the final.

In 2023, Peter Wright picked up his first World Series title since 2019 with an 11-5 win over Gerwyn Price.

Gerwyn Price is the reigning Nordic Darts Masters Champion having beaten Rob Cross 8-5 in last year’s final to take his World Series title count to four.

No regional representative has ever reached the final.

Which Nordic & Baltic Players Have Won at the Event?

In the four editions of the event so far, only two Nordic & Baltic players have won matches.

  • Madars Razma beat Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in round one of the inaugural edition in 2021

  • Johan Engström, who isn’t in this year’s edition, beat Peter Wright 6-5 last year

  • No Nordic & Baltic player won a game in either 2022 or 2023, and no non-PDC representative has ever reached the semi-finals
