Who are the favourites to lift the Premier League trophy?

Man City were originally solid favourites to lift the Premier League trophy. However after a dismal first half of the season, Pep Guardiola's men are now lingering around 6th. The new favourites are Liverpool at a very short 3/10.

Who are the favourites to be relegated?

The bookies believe that new additions Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton are most likely to be relegated in the Premier League 24/25 season. Everton was a close call but the odds seem to be drifting this week. Interestingly, at one point Man City were 16/1 to be relegated. Being realistic, this could have been due to the volume of novelty bets with all the controversy surrounding Man City and FFP. However, since Man City were recently cleared of any wrongdoing this is extremely unlikely to happen. Although following their awful run of form, their price to get relegated has actually shortened to 12/1!

Who are the Dark Horses for the new Premier League 24/25?

Nottingham Forest

Currently priced at 50/1 to win the Premier League, Nottingham Forest are sending shockwaves throughout the competition. Under Nuno Espírito Santo, Forest have transformed into a defensively solid and tactically astute side.

Forest's defensive resilience has shone through in a league that seems to have forgotten how to defend. Up until the New Year, they had conceded only 19 goals in 19 matches —only Liverpool (17) and Arsenal (16) boast better records in the league.

Goalkeeper Matz Sels leads the league with eight clean sheets, proving to be a reliable last line of defence. Meanwhile, centre-back Nikola Milenkovic, signed for a bargain £12 million from Fiorentina, has helped to solidify the back line.

What are the Best Value Premier League 24/25 Odds?

Right now it's looking like a one horse race with Liverpool. 3/10 is far too short and not worth backing. You may be best placed looking at the outright markets for a Top 4 finish. Currently Forest sit at 3/1, which could well be worth a bet if they can keep up this momentum.

UPDATES

Wednesday 8th January 2025

The odds for the Premier League title race have shifted significantly following a dramatic turn of events this season! Let's take a look at the key movements:

Man City – DRIFTED WAS 6/4, NOW 25/1

It’s been a surprising turn for the defending champions. Despite their dominance in recent years, the lack of significant transfer activity has caused their odds to drift significantly. With Arsenal and Liverpool showing strong form, the pressure is mounting on City to make impactful moves before the window closes.

Liverpool – SHORTENED

WAS 11/4, NOW 3/10

Liverpool’s odds have shortened dramatically, making them the current favourites for the title. This comes as no surprise as Arne Slots squad have easily been the strongest team. They are looking unstoppable at the moment.

Arsenal – DRIFTED

WAS 14/5, NOW 5/1

Arsenal fans may feel like they've already thrown the league away. This season so far has shown so many inconsistent performances from the Gunners, it isn't looking likely that they will be able to narrow the gap now.

Chelsea – DRIFTED

WAS 22/1, NOW 66/1

Chelsea have had a strong start to the season. Star signing Cole Palmer is proving to be a key asset to the squad. Chelsea currently sit in 4th, and are 10 points behind leaders Liverpool. Despite this, the bookies seem to think that there isn't a chance of them catching up.

Man Utd – DRIFTED

WAS 25/1, NOW 2000/1

Well, United have had an awful season so far. Lingering at 16th currently, you could say that they have been a complete shambles. There isn't any coming back from this now, they'll have to start preparing for next year.

Wednesday 14th August 2024

The transfer window has become more active over the last week, with Man Utd, Spurs and West Ham all making big moves. For live transfer updates you can check the Sky Sports News site here.

Chelsea - DRIFTED

WAS 20/1, NOW 25/1

Chelsea are having a rough time with their transfer window. Negotiations between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid involving multiple players have been thrown into chaos after the sale of Samu Omorodion fell through due to contractual issues. Spanish media believe that Chelsea tried inserting a 'cheeky' clause into Omorodion's contract, leaving his agent unhappy with the London based football club.

Because of this, it lead to Connor Gallagher spending five days in Madrid, unsure of what his future would be after already completing a medical and agreeing terms with Atletico Madrid.

To add further confusion, Chelsea are now trying to salvage the sale of Connor Gallagher to Atleti by buying Joao Felix, who has previously played for Chelsea on loan. The issue here is that Atletico want a lot more for him than what Chelsea are offering.

Friday 9th August 2024

There have been a few transfers over the last few weeks however nothing has affected the market too much.

Man City - DRIFTED

WAS 13/10, NOW 6/4

City are yet to make a key move in the transfer window. With Arsenal making their statement signing of Riccardo Calafiori, they surely must be putting pressure on the title holders.

Liverpool - SHORTENED

WAS 8/1, NOW 7/1

If you are backing Liverpool to lift the Premier League trophy this season, now might be the time to get involved before the prices move again. Also yet to make a key signing, we can only assume that the lack of activity from City is impacting the price. 7/1 is surely worth an each way bet?

Tuesday 16th July 2024

With the EUROs over, fans are recovering and the attention will be back on Premier League. Over the last couple of weeks there have been a few events affecting the odds movements on the market. So who has moved and why do we think this?

Manchester United - SHORTENED

WAS 33/1, NOW 25/1

The Red Devils have a lot of work to do this summer to improve on last season and reach the Top 4. Ten Haag has confirmed his new contract and is ready to build.

There have been some offloads at Old Trafford, including Martial, Varane and failed signing Donny van der Beek. To replace Martial in attack, United have signed centre forward Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. In addition to this, fellow Dutchman and Bayern Munich star, Matthijs de Ligt, is strongly rumoured to be coming in to strengthen United's defence.

Brighton - SHORTENED

WAS 500/1, NOW 250/1

The Seagulls are still swarming after a busy start to the transfer window. They have been hard at work strengthening their midfield with youngsters. Their standout signing so far is defensive midfielder Mats Wieffer, who has joined Brighton from Feyenoord. The 24 year old enjoyed a good run at the Dutch giant, having made 79 appearances across all competitions.

Overall, Brighton don't currently look like they'll top the league. But if you like a novelty bet it could be worth an each way.

Newcastle United - DRIFTED

WAS 33/1, NOW 35/1

It is shaping up to be an interesting window for Newcastle United already. Earlier this week, Eddie Howe was shortlisted by the FA as a potential replacement for England Manager, Gareth Southgate. Today (16th July) Southgate announced that he would be stepping down from his role. Naturally this may cause panic amongst Newcastle supporters, however it wasn't long until Newcastle bosses confirmed their intention to hold onto Eddie Howe. It is not clear what Howe's intentions are although the news is likely to affect the Magpies camp.

On-top of the doubts surrounding Eddie Howe, Newcastle also suffered another blow over the last week with Amanda Staveley announcing her departure.

In terms of transfers, Newcastle spent big last season with 400m worth of transfers. Due to many other clubs being under the microscope, and some even being penalised, Newcastle have to be very careful.

To keep in line with FFP, Newcastle have managed to bag a couple of free agents. These include Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth (centre back) and veteran goalkeeper John Ruddy from Birmingham City. Currently, the only signing that has cost them anything is Lewis Hall, who was on loan last season from Chelsea. The 19 year old left back made 22 appearances for the Magpies across all competitions in the 23/24 season. During this time he also scored two goals.
